Haunted Duck Race 2026

2 min read

Support senior pets and take a shot at winning cash; it's a win-win! Virtually adopt a rubber duck (or ten — there's no limit) for a chance at one of FOUR amazing prizes in our fifth annual Haunted Duck Race. Every dollar raised helps City of Elderly Love continue its lifesaving work.

Please see below for contest rules.

Here's how it works:

We'll be going live on Facebook on Saturday, October 31, when 600 little rubber ducky monsters take the plunge into our murky swamp (okay, it's really a giant kiddie pool, just don't tell them that). Each duck is numbered 1–600 ahead of the big day. They'll paddle a few laps around the swamp with a little help from our spooky volunteer wranglers, and once the swimming's done, the winning ducks will be randomly plucked from the water!

Adopting a duck costs just $10, and you can adopt as many as you like to boost your odds of winning. Just keep in mind: there are only 600 ducks up for adoption, so it's first come, first served!

What you may win:

Grand Prize: $1,000

First Place: $500

Second Place: $250

Third Place: $150

How to get started:

Just purchase your duck(s) below! Please double-check that you've entered the correct email address in your transaction details.

You'll receive your ducks' randomly assigned numbers by email within 10 business days of registering. Registration closes Wednesday, October 28, but we expect to sell out before then so don't wait!

A couple important notes and contest rules:

  • This is a virtual event — no need to attend in person! Join us live on the City of Elderly Love Facebook page on Saturday, October 31.

  • You'll be notified by email of your ducks' randomly assigned number. If you haven't received it within 10 business days of your donation, please check your spam/junk folder, then reach out to info@cityofelderlylove.org.

  • "Adopting" a duck is symbolic — you won't receive a physical duck. Our little monsters will be dried off and tucked away for next year's race!

  • Can't catch the livestream? No problem — winners will be announced across all City of Elderly Love social channels and posted right here on our Haunted Duck Race site. We'll also email each winner directly to arrange claiming their prize.

  • You don't need to be local to Philadelphia to take part!

  • Duck adopters must be 18 or older, but you're welcome to donate in honor of a child, pet, or organization — just let us know who when we assign your ducks' numbers. Note that the prize goes to the individual who adopted the duck.

  • Winners will be notified by email and must claim their prize by November 7, 2026.

  • Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries.
